Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I would like to purchase a new fragrance for my wife and am hoping for recommendations. It's fro a special occasion so I'm not worried about the price. Is there any new to the market that are worth trying?

She loves DKNY. I'm hoping to get a couple of recommendations to try as I don't want to go to the shop and have to try a dozen fragrances.

I know it's a hard thing to buy for someone as taste differs, she can always give it away at Christmas if she doesn't like it. :-)

If anyone has any recommendations for new fragrances for gents I'd be grateful too. My favourite is Vera Wang.

Vera Wang Princess is gorgeous. I absolutely love FlowerBomb by Victor and Rolf. Its really sweet and its such a nice fragrance. I love DKNY as a day-to-day fragrance and i wear FlowerBomb when im going out.

If you're looking for a very fresh perfume, L'Eau D'Issey by Issey Miyake is beautiful.

Chanel No. 5 is my absolute all time fave perfume.

I agree with XChanel chance. It's sophisticated but still fresh and girly. I always get nice comments when i wear that too. It's the only perfume I'll wear!

The best men's fragrance, and i have asked a good few women to smell it and the all agree is L'homme by yves saint Laurent. It's like pheremones and sexiness in a bottle. it makes me weak at the knees when my other half wears it! ( I obviously bought that one for him!)

    1. Flowerbomb- Viktor Rolf - classy
    2. Alexander McQueen- any limited edition- classy
    3. Paco rabanne- black kiss-fresh and young
    4. The good ol channel chance- undeniably the future :)
    5. Givenchy- hot couture-SEXY
    6. Agent Provocateur-SEXY

I probably dont have the spellings right:D but i have all these and more(addict) and i think they are nice for gifts

I know people who like DKNY like chanel allure and ghost the original fragrance.

Hypnose by lancome is really nice as well. And Elizabeth Arden Provocative woman.

Lanvin Rumeur is new one I saw in Arnotts.
Rumeur is a woody floral musk fragrance with top notes of magnolia, a heart of white rose, jasmine and orange tree blossom. The fragrance's base is composed of patchouli and musk.

Thanks again, you're all very helpful.

I'll probably purchase today, I have my list. Of course I'll let you know what I decide on.

For something special I would recommend Parfums DelRae's Bois de Paradis above any of the typical high street commercial brands.

Dolce Vita is my presonal favourite, and i also wear DKNY as my second fragrance!!!! But the new Armani Code is DEVINE, thinking of getting a bottle myself.

I'm afraid I was gone when you posted Quarrybaby. I nipped out at lunch.

Jester77 - no-one had the Parfums DelRae's Bois de Paradis, I'll look out for it the next time I'm in BT. I'd say I'll find it in there.

They didn't stock the Lanvin Rumeur either cozmik.

I tried the 3 Chanels mentioned and altough they were all very nice they weren't just what I wanted :-)

I somehow left the Elizibeth Arden and Paco rabanne off the list :o

Miyake- L'Eau d'Issey and Hypnose were nice but I preffered others. No-one had flower bomb or Alexander McQueen. Thierry Mugler's 'Angel' came close to the final 2 aswell. The Givenchy- hot couture made the final 2 with my other selection, the eventual winner.....

    Vera Wang Princess.

I loved it, hopefully my wife will too. Thank-you all very much for your recommendations. It's greatly appreciated.

I may aswell explain: When we on the run-up to getting married we purchased 2 new fragrance's. We wore them for the couple of months before we were married and also on honeymoon. After this we left them aside for a number of months. My wife read in a book about weddings that if a new fragrance was adorned for this period of ones life that wearing that fragrance afterwards would always bring you straight back to that special time. Now, everytime I wear the Vera Wang I'm reminded of our wedding and honeymoon.

My wife is expecting our first child and is due before the end of the year. The plan is to wear the fragrance up to the event and afterwards. The scent will hopefully, always take us back to where we are now. So thanks again all!

It's not a commercially branded perfume so you won't find it in a typical high street store. You'd have to go to a store that specialises in perfumes. I'm not sure if even BT would have it.

That is such a lovely idea! I'm going to remember that for when I'm getting married. Aw that really is the sweetest thing I've heard all day:) Congrats on the baby news and good choice going with the Vera Wang btw...
