Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

So, almost two years of 360 gaming and mine came last night.

Achievement Unlocked - Kick the Bucket

I finally beat Jordan on Expert. I've got some nice 360 achievements, but at the moment this is by best accomplishment in gaming! Sad perhaps, but if you like Guitar Hero you'll respect my crazyness... And inspiration for a thread about your favourite achievment(s)??!

    Another Bioshock spoiler -

Offed Andrew Ryan without actually hitting any buttons, it was both grizzly and an anti-climax at the same time.

Nice! i tried it once on expert and ended up crying in the bath trying to scrub away the horrendous failure on my part. :D

Probably beating COD2 on veteran difficulty. Very satisfying, probably because you get 60 gamerscore for each mission :D. But some of the latter levels are crazy. I don't know how my controller survived.

I really loved that game. Hopefully COD4's single player will be as good, especially after the mess Treyarch made of COD3.

I was doing it on veteran as well but i came a cropper on that annoying bloody sniper part on the tower what-not, it was ridiculously hard! so i quit, never to return.

Go back and finish the fight! Seriously, i'm with the other poster on this one, my fave achievement was completing COD2 on Vet.

I had a horrible time on that sniper bi. I beat it by never firing more then two shots before reloading. Made the reloads quicker if i remember rightly so it was easier to clear the nests out before you got swamped.

"Tournament Qualifier" Achievement in PGR3 tbh, was hard to get into the top64 in the tournaments.

If i'd gotten the elite achievement in R6V that would be top of my list, but I didn't get it (yet)

Other than that, getting the last achievement i needed in PES6!

COD2 veteran was one that took me a long time to crack. Got it after taking a long break from the game.

    Holy Sh*t...

Enormous respect for that man. Hard isn't the word... Nigh on impossible is more like it. Kudos!!! (yes, deliberate word choice)

I like where this thread is going.

Kensutz, you must have thousands of achievements, this COD2 veteran must be the business!

Zombie Genocider from dead rising was my favourite so far
    spaceball.gif

"Ha - take that 53,594 shuffling undead" I thought, and then cried at the 3 hours of my life wasted I will never get back.

    Well worth it then!

COD2 Veteran was a great gaming experience. Was hooked on that game. My first COD and I played it on Veteran the first time I played it til the end. The best achievements are usually the ones that take a long time to get but require skill. Not just crap achievements like 10,000 kills in multiplayer (FFS GOW) or play online for XX hours (Far Cry, Table Tennis)

Zombie Genocider (and a few other annoying DR ones), COD2 veteran, GOW on Insane on my own.
Might go for the Dead Rising 5 and 7 day survivor ones some day

Zombie genocider for me too :D
Another of my most proud ones is 100 kills in ranked games with the chainsaw in GOW.Basically because ranked GOW games were the most agonizingly irritating games i ever had to play, all full of squeaky voiced teens going OM FRACKIN GAWD YOU FRACKIN CHAINSAWR NOOOOOOB!'.
After i got my 100 kills i vowed never to play ranked gow again :D

Prolly the "numero uno" one from PGR4, I spent fecking hours trying to get that one!:p
If anyone wants the giant killer achievement just drop me a pm...

    /edit
The 200.06% exploration one in SotN was pretty damn satisfying, I had to take a photo of the normal and reverse map and compare them on my pc before I could figure out the last room I was missing:p

Friend of mine got that one too, first person in Ireland to get the 200 points out of the game.

A few people mentioned Zombie Genocider... I didn't get that one sadly, but the achievement that pushed me to 10k gamerscore was kill 10k zombies.

I have to say I really love achievements, not gamerscore per se, but just the way achievements can push you to play games in different ways... Like, not firing for 60 seconds in Geometry Wars, or having Frank simultaneously escort 8 female survivors. Things you wouldn't normally strive to do. There are the crap ones too, any of EA's launch titles come to mind, but some developers show what a great concept it is!! Keep em comin, this is fun!:)

    CHeers dude :D

Another is "Marble-fu Transcendent" for Marble Blast Ultra, finish all the advanced levels under the par time, few of them were difficult tbh.

Got that on Monkey Wrench on Hard, 1037 notes in the song or something, 100% in it!!:D

I don't have many achivements but id say "zombie chopper" from halflife 2 is my best so far,I had to play through all of ravenholm with just the gravity gun.

My favourite achievment so far is "suicide king" in FEAR,its worth 0 points:D

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 632 ✭✭✭Tank Top Fever!

    hmmm

    loads to bloody choose from!

All elites in Burnout, pacifist in Geometry Wars, 100 wins online in Pro Evo was an obsession for a while

Gave up on Veteran in COD2, pain in the arse

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,434 ✭✭✭Josey Wales

I don't have that many Achievements to choose from so I would have to go for the final Achievement I needed to get the full 1000 points from PES 6.

Barring that, I was happy to get the 100 headshots in GOW online.

Nice one, I'm still trying to get that on GH2. I once bailed out on 982 arrrggghhhhghh!

    Had to dig this up!
Just got the "Ultimate Tanker" achievement in the Arcade game "Heavy Weapon". Damn near impossible and all for a measly 25points!
For those that don't know it I'd recommend downloading the demo, it's a great fun little game.
I only ever bought it as I damaged my fingers a while back and this was the only game I could play because of the control layout!
    Well worth it!
