"Proper TV" LCD or TV Tuner Monitor?

    Folks,
I am looking to get a LCD for a bedroom.

I have been looking around and with the thousands of models available I am a bit lost.

I was looking at a LG LCD computer monitor with a TV tuner built in:
    http://www.pixmania.com/ie/uk/621199/art/lg/m208wa-bz-20-tft-screen-5.html

But am I better buying a "proper tv" LCD that is built for purpose(if that makes sense). Something along the lines of a Samsung, Sony, Phillip etc. Also what would the difference be?

    Any thoughts would be appreciated.

    Thanks

Well, do you want a tv or do you want a computer monitor?

This won't be as good as a tv. That's the bottom line. But it will be an ok tv, and a great monitor for a pc or console. If you buy a proper tv, it will be an ok monitor but it will be a much better tv. Personally I'd go for the monitor but that's just me.

    Thanks for the reply.

I am looking for a TV. So maybe that is the path that I should be looking down.

    Thanks again.

Same monitor is nearly €100 more at komplett (http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.aspx?sku=335110).

The reviewer seems to like it, but doesn't really go in to detail about what specific features he likes. I suspect he sees the tv part as an added bonus, no mention of SD signal quality or if it offers a good tv-watching experience.

It's hard to offer (or take) advice about something you haven't seen in person. But if money is no object, I've yet to hear a complaint about any of samsungs tv/monitors.
