    Hey Guys,

Bought loads of domain names before inc .ie's but always had to get them registered with the cro etc. Does anyone know what the story is with clubs as they are not a personal name nor are they a business? Read through the documentation but its a little unclear.

    Thanks

    Oops, just saw section 9!!!

    Category 9: Unincorporated Association Name
An unincorporated association that is not legally obliged to have a registered business name (club or society) is entitled to register a domain name in this category.
    Requirements:

    * A self issued letter from the applicant on the association's letterhead stating that they are an Unincorporated Association and require the domain name to reflect their organisation name.
    Sample Letter:
We 'Association Name' confirm that we are an unincorporated association and request the domain name xxxx.ie to reflect our association name.

Hi Danni, the IEDR ( Irish Domain Registry) have made it very easy now to register for clubs and so on.

All you need to do is apply for the name under Unincorporated Association Name, and from there just send a fax to your registrar whom is doing this for you, on the clubs headed paper, outlining your claim to the name, and how it relates to your club.

If you have any questions please don't hesitate to send me a private message
