    Hi -

We have found a house we really like near Rosemount, Moate. Offer has been accepted and now we are into the nightmare of solicitors/surveyors & handing over loads of our hard-earned!

We have discovered that broadband internet (wireless) is available in the area - is this what everybody else has ? What providers
do you use ? We have been in touch with lastmile.. Are they reliable ?

Also - anyone have any info on the area - Good or Bad that you think would be useful ? Would be very grateful..

    Thanks :)

    TheBx

Lastmile are a bit of a last resort. They are high cost, customer care can be bad to non-existant and they tend to do installs when they fancy a day out. I thought Eircom were doing DSL in Moate by now. If you can get wired from Eircom or BT, grab it. If not, consider Lastmile and be prepared for higher costs, lower bandwidth and a feeling that you never know quite what's going on.

PS: Good luck with the house

I'm using LastMile (in Athlone) as no other provider covered my area
(bar land line which I didnt want and mobile which I was warned off)

Service seems good so far but they have a habit of not answering phones,
be it for sales, installations, technical support or accounts.
Took fairly constant ringing from 10am until 4pm one day for me to get
through to them. Plus they are the dearest provider around at the moment

Installation dates were given and time passed and another date given,
again with a no show. Took about 7-8 weeks for them to come out.
When they eventually arrived though, the installation guy was sound
and got the job done fairly quickly.
