Hi, I was wondering if anyone has any experience of obtaining ISO 9000/1/2 standards for their service/product? Is it expensive and what's the procedure? Their website doesn't give much info... any help appreciated :)

    Whose website?

You need to talk to a certification agency.

One such agency, which happens to be public sector is the certification section of NSAI.

    http://www.nsai.ie/index.cfm/area/page/information/certificationservices

There are also private companies which provide this service. For example:

    http://www.iqc.ie/training_incompany.php?page=incompany&parent_id=4&page_id=18

I don't know enough about this topic to really recommend either of these bodies.

The cost is really going to depend on how much work you put in yourself and how big and complex your business is.

See the section called 'Audit' on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_9000

my business had this for a number of years, however the audits were quite expensive and extensive for a company of our size, we done anyway with the audit but kept the procedures, we lost the iso (as we didnt renew it) it didnt have any effect on the business or customers, its a good thing to have for government tenders etc but over all it wasnt worth the investment in hindsight
