Stephen Henderson - Irish goalkeeper at Preston. I got him for £22,000 and the fans think he's a bargain.

Heh, I know him in RL. always sign him in any game I play ;)

I think that the best player you can sign for free for a league 2 club is Seyfo Soley from The Gambia. He is not at a club and is a championship leading star, but he accepts offers for lower league sides.

John Hartson is usually allowed to leave for free and he i out of contract by the January transfer window and West Brom dont offer him a new one. But if you have no money, you should get premiership players on loan.

    I recommend:

    Goodwin Antwi (Chelsea)
    Tomas Pekhart (Tottenham)
    Frazer Campbell (United)
    Terry Dixon (Tottenham)
    Marek Stech (West Ham)
    Curtis Osano (Reading)
I'm thinking Barnet must be the most horrible place in Britain. Not one Premiership or Championship player is willing to come to Barnet on loan. All I keep getting is "So and so wouldn't even consider a loan move to Barnet" Cheeky fcukers.

Bought Constable from Kettering and he's banging in the goals but I'm badly in need of a creative midfielder. Drawing too many home games and constantly losing away from home. I'll try that Seyfo Soley lad and the lithuanians when I get home.

2 players i have always tried to sign but have never been able to are:

    Dos Santos and Bojan

both say they are not interested in a move to chelsea, regardless of wages... saying unsure of wether a move to england would be the right choice...

has anyone ever signed them? any idea how to change there mind?

Oh my god, Kwabena Agouda is absolutely unbelievable, he cannot get a work permit, but with foreign clubs he always wants to come, you can sign him 200k but he becomes worth 15mil by the end of 2008. His finishing is 19, heading is 19 , long shots 19 and pace is 16 if you train and treat him well. He plays for Swiss club FC St Gallen. He is lethargic at the beginning and his stats are good but not excellent but he improves rapidly.

I was thinking of buy Championship Manager 2008 tomorrow, just wondering what peoples opinions are on this. I had the 01/02 and thought it was great, bought the 03/04 season and didnt like it.

Looking for a Yes or No :)

Careful now. CMs 01/02 and 03/04 of old are now rebranded Football Manager.

So buy Football Manager '08 (not Championship Manager '08 which is made by a different crowd altogether).

Holy SH*t, Aguero is lethal if you can get him. 49 goals in his second season for me, 30 already in february in the third (with two months off injured i might add!)

i've found a few decent players: a young Right winger israeli named "assulin", can get him for fairly cheap, is looking promising so far. another french youth who I picked up on a free called Sakho is good too, being touted as the next Terry by my coaches, he's a good versatile player. and Sehar for Chelsea is lethal. it's only Aguero and Pandev who gotten 65 goals between them this season so far who are keeping Sehar out, and not by much.

I saw this lad mentioned on another forum. His name's Malik Mouath Al-Hawasawi. He's from Saudi Arabia and for his price he looks an absolute bargain. I've seen his stats vary in one or two areas but generally he seems to look PHENOMENAL. Some one bought him for their Celtic team and here's how he did...

    http://img513.imageshack.us/img513/9374/alhawasawiqw5.png

Whether or not he could cut it in tougher leagues I'm not sure but for his stats and his price I'd say he's worth a gamble. One of the best finds I've read about anyway.

    Give him a look.

I bought Ustari for Southampton in August and ended up replacing him in January with Scott Carson... would'nt rate either tbh
Alberto Aquilani of Roma is a favourite of mine, himself and Bojan Krkic get better as the game goes on.

i am liverpool and have no assistant manager .. who can i get

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,910 ✭✭✭thusspakeblixa

I'd say Quieroz but doubt he'd go. Steve Kean from Southampton ( I think he's still there )is usually good.

do you let him handle all contracts and stuff?? can u trust him coach reports on signing new players?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,910 ✭✭✭thusspakeblixa

Well usually I handle contracts but Steve is always good for the lowdown on a player. And for me I'd say he's right about players 8 out of 10 times. There has been a few duds (Ustari, Kyle Lafferty) but he's generally OK. And as for Queiroz, I'd trust the man with my life! (lets just forget that little episode with Real yeah?)

eh... really? a few seasons in I sold Cech for 30 mil, got Ustari for half that and Ustari has been the better keeper by far. in my game only Buffon and Casillas are better.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,910 ✭✭✭thusspakeblixa

Yep! A memory is buying Ustari in January when I was in 12th, and by May we had just scraped past relegation! Mainly due to Ustari's general haemorrhaging of goals, and several of those late night striker crises...

Yup, I bought him for United in Fm07 and he was a good shot stopper etc but flapped at crosses and had terrible distribution, a bit like real-life Paul Robinson... Then once the season records showed him as 'worst signing of the year' I bought Igor Akinfeev and the rest is history (by that I mean 2 Champions Leagues!)

Valencia is cool challenge to start out as, like 1m transfer budget but some amazing youths and decent players. this guy called mata whos a left and central attacking midfielder is a wonderkid now for me, his stats are good and hes just turned 20 (starts at 19) i actually play him and put vicente on as a sub haha.... so what do u think of my team? i won the LA LIGA +cup but didnt get far in europe .im just starting my 2nd season( september 1st. got 40m for transfers but need 47m for aguero so itll have to wait until January. i have tons of young talent on loan to good clubs

    Hildebrand(canizares sub)
    (cahais)Castro (V.D.borre) Garay (alexis) R.albiol (zubar) filipe

    Masherano/Banega

Silva Diego/Van der vaart/Mata/aaritalo/renato augusto Vicente

    Villa/pongolle/huntelaar/Aaron

Really getting nto FM08 now that exams are out of the way.

    Playing with Chelsea
    2nd season
Won everything on offer 1st year.
To make it more challenging i sold 6 players and hopes are to retain the pre crown and at least semis of all other competitions.

    The six players sold were
    Sheva
    Ballack
    Carvalho
    Cuidcini
    J Cole
    K Boulharouz

So am left with a situation whereby i am now using reserve player who i have promoted

    Sinclair
    Tejera
    Mancienne
    Haxia

I am just through the first part of the season, mid way through transfer window and am on target to reaching semis of comps. League campaign has gathered momentum, 6 games unbeaten and lying in joint 3rd with Villa and Everton, Man U and Man C lead the table.

    Play 4-3-1-2 diamond midfield.

    Cech
    Belletti Terry Mancienne A Cole
    Essien Sidwell Makelele
    Lampard
    Drogba and Pizzaro

Have to say its great craic playing with chelsea without 6 big names this season, might sell 4-5 this year and but 3 players, see what happens, similarly i may just apply to jobs in c'shop and league 1 contenders. try and make a prem team outta them

Jonny Howson from Leeds turns into a quality player

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,910 ✭✭✭thusspakeblixa

Simon Walton of Leeds is doing well for me atm.
Also- Samir Nasri- DEAR GOD! What a player! Bought him for Athletico and he's been pretty much the only consistent performer.

A Chelsea reserve called Mancienne is a pretty good prospect for a defender. I think he can be gotten fairly cheaply, but i'm not sure as i play as Chelsea.

i managed to get Chiellini pretty cheap too, he was transfer listed... solid player for around the 10 - 15 mark. can't remember what it was. just keep anj eye out for oddities like that, they always come around.
