    yeah, me too.

Like I always say, if I ever win the lottery, after buying a house and a car and a few fabulous holidays, the rest of my share will probably go in large part to: Canon, Le Creuset, and The North Face.

    le sigh.

    *drool!*

Plenty of bargains around what with shops closing left and right.

Does make me feel like a vulture, though.

Well, Peter John's was closing but it's closed now. Father-in-law got a good deal on a suit there. The store next to Java on Rockwood Parade (women's formal wear) is closing down, dresses half price.

Argento aren't closing afaik but have had a sale on for long enough that I think they might be thinking about it.

They are run by the same people who run the gift shop. Someone was looking for a job when I was in there but he was told they didn't need any staff....its only a small shop.

The Asian Food Store on Connolly Street.

I bought a load in there today, fresh and dried, for... €13!!!

Hurrah - beat that Tesco Smesco!!

    Where's that Sueme? Sounds good!

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,392 ✭✭✭TequilaMockingBird

If you just follow High Street right to the end (they are actually called different street names but assume High Street is one long road) and keep to the right at the junction. Its on the right hand side.

    I got:

    3 Tins Coconut Milk
    2 Tins Chick Peas
1 Jar Curry Paste (Pataks I think)
1 BIG bunch of fresh Coriander
    Fresh Garlic
    Fresh Ginger
    Big bag of Lentils
    Chicken stock cubes
    Bag of Tumeric (big)
    Bag of Cumin (big)

€13 - Nice! Indian tonight methinks!

Apply in Easons - I'm sure they have quite a high turnover of staff.
Good to hear there is a second hand bookshop open; I spend far too much on new books on Amazon and end up chucking them out after I finish them (if they are not that great).

Some great sales in town at the moment. Was home this week and got some bargains in EJs and Aware.

Bit of a strange one, this, but here goes! :D

Is there anywhere in Sligo town where my brother can get a chain saw chain sharpened?

    Thanks! :D

  • Registered Users Posts: 262 ✭✭Iompair

There's a rental place on JFK parade, might sharpen it for you. The local mechanic where I am does that sort of thing too.

  • Registered Users Posts: 975 ✭✭✭genie

    Thanks, will try there. :)

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,640 ✭✭✭Gillie

They fix lawnmowers (If its the same place Iompair is talking about) so i'm sure they can sharpen blades!
