Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Is it a boy or girl? Does it have a name?

Does the beard grow as they do, there isn't much evident to name that one bearded?

My best buddy Spencer was put to sleep today after becoming very ill. It's very tough for the family. Here's a photo of him enjoying a walk on the Curragh last year. He loved life and will be missed.

That sucks man i had to do the same with my last dog, a collie, he was very old 5-6 years beyond his life expectancy and was getting really really ill so putting him to sleep was what was best for him, we didnt want him to suffer and we couldnt bear to watch him suffer either so it was the most humane choice. I grew up with that dog and one of my first memorys was going into my uncles shed and picking him because he was the only one that didnt run away from me. Remember the good times you had together and happy that ye got to know each other.

That the name of them much like a collie or german shepard he's a bearded dragon.

They get the name Bearded Dragon because they do sometime puff out there chin really and it goes darker in colour kinda like this fella here for an example

Spencer is beautiful, I've been in your place before and it's terrible. In time another puppy might start to fill the hole in your heart but give it time.

There is sorrow enough in the natural way
    From men and women to fill our day;
And when we are certain of sorrow in store,
Why do we always arrange for more?
Brothers and Sisters, I bid you beware
Of giving your heart to a dog to tear.

Buy a pup and your money will buy
Love unflinching that cannot lie --
    Perfect passion and worship fed
By a kick in the ribs or a pat on the head.
    Nevertheless it is hardly fair
To risk your heart for a dog to tear.

When the fourteen years which Nature permits
Are closing in asthma, or tumour, or fits,
And the vet's unspoken prescription runs
To lethal chambers or loaded guns,
Then you will find -- it's your own affair --
But . . . you've given your heart to a dog to tear.

When the body that lived at your single will,
With its whimper of welcome, is stilled (how still!)
When the spirit hat answered your every mood
Is gone -- wherever it goes -- for good,
You will discover how much you care,
And will give your heart to a dog to tear.

We've sorrow enough in the natural way,
When it comes to burying Christian clay.
Our loves are not given, but only lent,
At compound interest of cent per cent.
Though it is not always the case, I believe,
    That the longer we've kept'em, the more do we grieve;

For, when debts are payable, right or wrong,
A short-time loan is as bad as a long --
So why in -- Heaven (before we are there)
Should we give our hearts to a dog to tear?

It's been a looonnnnggggg 12 months wait, and no amount of preparation, reading or advice can really prepare you for adding a second dog to your home. The weather and Loch Ness-like back garden isn't really helping matters... But... 24 hours in, and we're off to a great start.

Without crate training - we'd be lost. I really can't stress how well it has worked (with Hugo) and is already working with his 'mad' half brother.

A rare bit of Sunday sunshine...

Same Dad Mel.b. Mum belongs to the same breeder this time round. Stunning dog. Fantastic temperament. And he's only a pup.

    Fingers crossed.

    Cheers Anniehoo!

It's been a rollercoaster weekend. Hugo was 7 weeks older than Jack is now (10
Weeks) when we got him. So the toilet training routine is brand new to us. I have to say, Jack is such a clever boy. Now, we're up at 2.5 hour intervals at night and crating with treats, toys, kong and feeding in there too. He's happy out in it. Not a peep last night. But Hugo is diagonally across from him, in his crate, so he must be taking his lead (if you'll pardon the pun) from big bro.

And Hugo, though a little put out is happy to play at certain times, for short stints. Separation is key to keeping all happy.

And we have to watch Jack like a hawk for signs he wants to pee 'n poop. So far, so good. He knows where the toilet is. After a day! A day!!!

The advice on here this past year has been great.

But - I'm in no doubt, that an 'ounce of breeding is worth as tonne of feeding'. The breeder has been so supportive too.

Fingers crossed tonight goes as smoothly.

Canon 1100D. Bargain Alerts buy of the year last year. I bought a nifty fifty lens, as well as the 18-55 and 70-300 that came with it.

I'm editing in Adobe Lightroom. Teaching myself as I go. I'm a graphic designer - so picking it all up quickly.

I'll stick a video up as soon as. Back to work tomorrow. Mammy working from home for the week to enforce the crate and toilet training. Let's hope tonight is a repeat of last night. And tomorrow is dry!!! Bloody rain.

Well we made a fleece-lined hammock for the hamster, and pics were requested, so here you go!

You can kind of see it- unfortunately he's kind of bundled up in loads of tissue which blends with the white fleece! It's right up the top of the cage on hs second level, with access via a lovely lollipop tunnel :P, both suspended from the roof.

    294101.jpg

And in this one he's being fed pancake (only a tiny bit of plain, don't worry! It's only flour milk and egg.) You can also see his hot water bottle keeping him extra cosy these cold nights!

    294102.jpg

    Honestly. Spoiled rotten!!!
