He'll be 7 years old on the 8th of November (same day I turn 24) and he's my doggie son!

First time post, long time lurker
This is our guy, we just adopted him today, he's a German Shepherd X, we think there's a bit of lab in there . He's 4 months old and still a big baby as you can see . He's all tuckered out from a busy evening settling in.

Can I ask an off-topic question, looking at the doggie pictures brought this to mind - hope the mods don't mind.

Do all you dog owners own your own houses or do you rent? I'm moving back to Ireland next year and my fiance is desperate to get a dog (to go with our beloved cat who we're paying a fortune to bring with us from New Zealand!). He loves looking at the dogs in this thread. We won't be in a position to buy a house for a while and I was under the impression that finding a landlord who will let us have a cat will be hard enough, let alone a dog. In NZ lots of people who rent have cats but it's hard to get somewhere if you have a dog.

I moved out of my apt to rent a house on account of our dog. TBH the first place we found that we liked, we got. Now we made it clear from the very start when we went to view it that we had a pup. That said the garden was already wrecked, and in a bad state, and we asked if they'd object to us doing it up a little bit (which I'm sure helped our case).

As a landlord myself, all I want is someone to keep the place in good nick & to pay the rent on time. If you make it clear that you're not going to wreck the place, and that you're looking for a place for a few years, you shouldn't have any problems.

Just don't look at houses with pristine beautiful gardens!!!

Thanks for the response Zulu - we're good tenants and as we're coming home to get married we're looking to settle somewhere for a while. I was thinking we'd just have to wait until we could buy somewhere so if that's not the case, it would make my fiance very happy

Yea my Chewie is really hairy already am doing a grooming course so cant wait to start trimming him properly. I had to cut some of the hairs around his eyes already as he couldn't see! heres a few pics

3 of her own beds in various places in the house and this morning my dog chose to curl up in..... my knitting basket :rolleyes: She couldn't be budged but I forced the issue when she started sounding like she was choking and found there was a needle sticking right into her neck:eek: Basket now moved to the other side now where she can't get to it;)

Follow the leader. Poor little Phoe debated whether to give it a go or not for ages, then went for it, fell in, scrambled to the other bank, then realised he had to get back. So had to make the return journey. It was ok though, after he got back we met a youth group walking in the woods, and Phoe was in his element with all the rubs.



Harley dropped his ball down a hole...... a very serious rescue mission followed.
