I recently got broadband for which i pay a monthly fee... my question is that will this fee stay the same even if hypothetically i used it 24/7? Also my broadband is 5mb, does this relate to speed or usage?

It should have been in the terms and conditions but there's usually an acceptable usage policy -- in other words, don't exceed a monthly limit of X GB per month or let your activities cause problems for other users. If you exceed the cap, you may either have to pay per megabyte exceeded or your connection speed may be throttled as punishment.

    Eircom's crappy, entry-level broadband package is time-based.

5 Mbps is the speed of the connection.

Your fee will stay the same unless you exceed your monthly download allowance.
The amount of time you stay online makes no difference.
