Does anyone now when the current RX-8 will be replaced. The design still looks very fresh but it must be coming up for a small face lift or something. I was reading autoblog and they are saying a new rx-8 wont be coming till 2011. Can anyone confirm this as that would be close to 8 years without even a nip or tuck?

I read somewhere (cannot remember where) that a revamped RX-8 was due in late 2009. Current car has been around since 2003 afaik

They just launched a 40th anniversary limited edition model in Japan as far as I know to celebrate 40 years of the rotary engine I think. Not sure if it is coming to Europe though.

Apparently they're working on a hydrogen fuelled rotary engine. Now that's the way of the future! :D

2011 with a new 16X aluminium rotary. Also expect to see a face-lifted RX-8 coming this winter if not early next year

See here for more info ....

    Edit:

Im assuming the reason youre asking is because you want to wait to buy a new facelifted model as opposed to the current model ... If thats the case its worth noting that as of next year the 231BHP version will be discontinued in good ol' ireland and the only option will be the 192BHP model.

    Hurrah for VRT !!
