Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Can't stand that guy on the ad for a property auction. In Galway.

I like the inshurdance ad, where the wife has planted herself in the garden shed, studying all the latest price plans, with the spiders in her hair.

I bet you'd ban me if you could.

I hate it but at least the woman is portrayed as the stupid one for a change. :)

    mattresses delivered dot ie

The stupidity of this Bargaintown is breathtaking here

There's already a company at mattressesdelivered.ie (some ****e shopify effort)

Then they spend loads of money on advertising a name that differs only by a "hyphen", your man even says it "don't forget the hyphen". Surely they could have come up with a better name aaaahhh

That Sunday Business Post advert, which likes to tell us how great they are.

They say they have changed laws......anyone know which laws the SBP got changed?

Some hotel advertising itself as a venue for business meetings is starting to grate; every management speak cliché in the book.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 34,042 ✭✭✭✭NIMAN

Anyone heard the new RTE2 radio advert for Heinz soups?

Its got the female voice that does a lot of adverts, no idea who she is, but she has racheted up the irritation levels on this one. You'd nearly think it was a spoof advert, her voice is that grating and high.

Those two tools out on the golf course are back.

The news talk ad for the most un funniest podcast ever made. It’s on all the time. Every single break.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 55,537 ✭✭✭✭Mr E

    Yep, it sounds awful.

They aren't exactly doing a good job of selling it.

It was the only ad on that entire ad break it was so long !

Brady's Family Ham to the tune of "Come out ye Black and Tans" - who thought that was a clever idea?

Another that moves me to commit murder is the one for Brokers Ireland and their Award Ceremony where brokers are 'honoured' for their efforts. God help us, what's that about - do they get VCs or Knighthoods for their brave efforts.

Just heard the Brady Family Ham ad. They must be minted if they can afford to use up an entire ad break.

Most ads should be under 30 seconds, especially on radio. It seemed to go on forever.

I timed it this morning at approx. 3 minutes. Either they got a great deal or they have seriously lost the plot.

    Grraaagh.

Just because there's some load of b*llocks hirse racing "festival" this week, it doesn't mean you have to do your ads for motor cars/windows/snackfoods/literally any other product or service in the style of a horse racing commentator.

    Jesus.

Have we heard this extended campaign before?

I have somehow avoided its latest incarnation, but I'm almost certain they've bombarded us in this way before.

I may however be thinking of the McDonnells' curry ad. I think McDonnells have done something very similar on TV, taking over entire ad-breaks.

I will never buy anything featured in a Deirdre o'kane ad. The current one is so bad and they must have let her write the jingle too.

Wall to wall Deirdre O Kane last few Newstalk ad breaks, she's as funny as a hernia. Pushing the quirky button a bit too hard.

"You won't remember unblocking the sink but you will remember the Titanic sinking" - Ad for Titanic Visitor Centre in Cobh which has been moved by Failte Ireland to Ireland's Ancient East.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 69,592 ✭✭✭✭L1011

Sunday World ad - which I've never heard advertising on radio before, but it was on another DOB property - managed in one ad to both be utter ghouls about those Northern Irish kids killed at the disco and vaguely imply that Kathyrn Thomas and Blathnaid Treacy were marrying each other (when they are in fact both marrying men). All in 30 seconds!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,530 ✭✭✭✭whisky_galore

Chronically unfunny ad for Newstalk's comedy slot.

Happened to catch the show, it is indeed as rubbish as the ad suggests.
