Shoe choice with new suit.

Brown shoes with a very dark grey pin stripped suit, yes or no?.

Normally I'd have said NO, but tried the new suit on last night and just grabbed the nearest pair of shoes (brown, long slim types) and thought they looked excellent with the suit.

Normally I'd wear a plain shirt, white is my fav.

Lads, this isn't a BUMP. But I need advice A.S.A.P. as its for a funeral this week.

My uncle passed away today.

But failing anything I guess I can't go wrong with polished black leather shoes?.

I think brown shoes are fine, and are 'in' with any colour suit. but they are more of a fashion look, perfect for a wedding/night out etc, but maybe a bit much for a more sombre event.

For a funeral personally I would stick to black shoes, can't be wrong. You are paying your respects rather than trying to look good imo.

Given that its a funeral Mairt I would have to say NO.

Normally I would only wear black shoes with black suit - brown with most other suits (e.g. navy / grey / brown)

But you want to look sombre at a funeral, not super stylish! Go with the black, this isnt an event where you'll be seeking compliments!

Yea, thanks guys.

Answered two questions there really, ie. wear the black shoes for the funeral and its cool/fashionable to go with the brown on another occassion.

Dark brown or black is cool with a dark grey suit but for a funeral, I'd go with the black.
