Gearbox for a VW Transporter SYNCRO

    Hi All

    I'm looking for a used gearbox for a 97 VW Transporter Syncro.

    They dont seem to be that easy to find, as the van themselves are rare enough and the to find one in a breakers yard seems even more difficult. Its a 4 wheel drive, but the 2 wd gearboxes are pretty easy to come by.

    If anyone knows of any place i could get one, either here or around europe i would be very grateful.

    VW themselves might also be worth a try for a refurbished gearbox in exchange


    ( I also drive a syncro, but the previous model :D)

    There is a breakers in Westmeath breaking a 2002 4x4 Transporter - not sure if that's the same model as yours or who the dealer even is (listed in a Trade Magazine as being in Westmeath but doesn't look like they pay to advertise in it).
