Pomegranates / Wine Apples

OK, every Hallowe'en my dad gets a few of these, and some of the neighbours always added them to the collection when we were younger and doing the collecting.

Anyway, they usually get left around the kitchen in my parent's house and my dad might eat one or two of them of an evening.

He just cuts them up and eats the red fleshy stuff inside.

I like it, not overly love it or anything, but I was wondering if anyone had anything unusual to do with them?

Make a "jewelled pavlova" - meringue, cream and pomegranate seeds - looks beautiful and tastes delish. I love them and put them in my fruit salads and on top of porridge. They're pricey though!

They appear in salads a good bit. Nice little burst of flavour!
