Howdy! I've made a few fun movies in the past with windows movie maker, but obviously they haven't been of any quality (as.. well, its windows movie maker). I've been told Sony Vegas is a good package, so I've obtained it but I just don't understand it heh Basically; - Does anyone know of any good Vegas tutorials/online…

Howdy!

I've made a few fun movies in the past with windows movie maker, but obviously they haven't been of any quality (as.. well, its windows movie maker). I've been told Sony Vegas is a good package, so I've obtained it but I just don't understand it heh

Basically;

- Does anyone know of any good Vegas tutorials/online classes/ebooks?
- Does anyone know of any other packages that are good?

here are some tutorials on vegas... http://www.pixel2life.com/tutorials/sony_vegas/ i've no idea how good they are as i've never used vegas.

As for other software, my weapons of choice include avid and final cut pro. I have dabbled with premier pro but only for doing the occasional quick trim. Check out the sticky at the top for more info on the different programs available.

Vegas is great for mixing audio files but I've little experience of using it for video myself.

Can't think of any tutorials but it's worth just playing around with it, you can get excellent results with Vegas and it's quite addictive. I expect the help files will be of some assistance, maybe there is a Vegas forum? If you're doing any "soundscapes" post a link so we can hear them. Good luck.

I love Ulead (Now Corel) Videostudio 11 Plus
I've tried loads of other packages but for basic cutting, editing
and titling Videostudio is just so easy to use and has loads of effects
and transitions
Everything is layed out clearly in the interface.

Yeah - I used the older ones. Quite good. Does it author the DVD for you? The Pinnacle interface is very simplified for that - much more so than, say, Premiere.
