Agreed. The only show after "The Wire" that I'd watch is "Entourage" and I most certainly don't consider that remotely in the same quality league as their other output. Gone are the days when we had "Oz","Six Feet Under", "The Sopranos", "The Larry Sanders Show", "Carnivale" and so on
You people should start watching Curb. It's pretty, pretty, pretty good.

Ah he's a legend with his liquid clear and his talking to inanimate objects. Perfect hangover TV if I'd that on DVD I'd watch every time I'm vegging

I think any Top 10 list across all genres is just too idiosyncratic. I mean how do you compare a comedy like Only Fools and Horses with a drama like The West Wing or a scifi series like Babylon 5? I think if you restrict it to best sci-fi, best british comedy etc you can have a more interesting conversation as there's some criteria for comparison. Just my two cents and perhaps a future thread.

That said, if I had to pick one TV series as the best of all time, as a "desert island DVD" it would be Star Trek - The Next Generation.

    In no particular order
    - The Simpsons
    - The Sopranos

    - Heroes
    - Champions League(RTE)
    - Futurama
    - Family Guy
    - Father Ted
    - Band of Brothers
    - South Park

Alot of animation and HBO programs, quantum leap was a narrow miss but nostalgia may have skewed my memory.
