    Hi,

I have a 10 yrs old Opel Omega which is very rare here in Ireland as I can see. I wanted to get it serviced, but the local station said the screw that releases the oil has gone, so I need to see an Opel specialist. I phoned up ALL Opel related numbers I could find using Google + Golden Pages + "online motoring guide?" - NO LUCK! Ok, only Dubliners I did... They say they cannot do anything about broken parts. Well, if my car was ok I would not bring it to the garage, right? ;-)

So do you know any place where they REPAIR cars?

    Many thanks,
    Tamas

chack few scrap-yards like Traynors or McCoy, and also in UK you might find a second-hand part to replace it.

It should be possible to drill the old sump plug out and either re-tap the hole or fit a helicoil. Alternatively, as suggested above, you could get a replacement sump from a scrapyard. What engine does it have? The the 2.0 and 2.5 petrols are also fitted to vectras, the 2.0 certainly shouldn't be that rare. The 2.5 diesel is a bmw engine and is also fitted to some range rovers.

Sorry what is the local station? the local fast fit? quick fit? were they trying to do an oil change?

Is the head wrung off the bolt? or are the threads damaged in the sump??

You don't need to be any sort of specialist to take out a sump plug, even if the head is wrung...

If the thread is damaged you'll need a heli coil put in still not a specialist job, or you could just replace the sump with one from a scrap yard..

you should have no trouble getting parts for that car over here., if you go to any Opel dealer they should have a parts department that you can get it from.,
