So after reading up on SpeedTest.net it seems that Smart Telecom is on average the fastest connection in Limerick City so I did some detective work on their site they advertise 3meg BB for 15 euro a month and allow you to upgrade to 7mb for an extra 15 euro. Now it doesn't list any other monthly charges apart from line rental and maybe installation so that works out as 7mb BB for 30 a month not including line rental etc.

Someone figure this out it can't be right.

People do not get eircom for speed. They are not even in the top 10 for Ireland .

The fastest ISP in Ireland ( and the fastest region) is Casey in Dungarvan. Therefore Waterford is top of the table .

A guy in work stayed with them after all customers got cut off for a few days and they rewarded him with free upgrade to 6MB broadband and he still has it! Pretty sweet I think...

Anyone here from Dundalk who transferred from Eircom to Smart?

Have Eircom 3 Meg but like everyone else would like something faster. Would be interested to see Smart 6 or 7 Meg working if anyone has it and hear what the switchover experience was.
