Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Yea, what I'm really saying is that I hate this time of year.

Its like the main department stores are on the starting blocks waiting to empty our pockets.

I mean, I love christmas. I love the whole Christmas thing, but when it starts in November its a royal pain in the arse.

I was up at 4.30am this morning to drop someone to the airport and I can't believe how warm it is for 1st November. I was in a T-shirt.

We got our summer in March and April, Early winter during the summer, a touch of Mid-Winter in September, and now in November, its...Spring? Weird.

November the first is a bit to early, it leads to an anti-climax at the big day.

I am all for people being organised with shopping and stuff, but the displays up already is a bit much.

Does anyone else notice that a lot of shops and stores this year are looking for seasonal staff? More than usual

    Now there's a thought!.

I might head home (finishing off a night shift), stay in the combats. Dusty off the gun and introduce the new dog (Jericho) to the delights of a mornings shoot.

Although funny enough, the older I get the less inclined I am to kill (animals at least ;) ).

On November 1st I feel like we've turned a corner and the year starts to wind down, anyone else feel the same?.

You should seek professional help if the sight of a Christmas tree nearly makes you cry.

C'mon Mairt, you should know better. There's a thread on this topic already.

    Cool.

There are lots of wild pheasant about two miles up the road.
I'm gonna grab one and have a nice dinner.

I'm just happy I am out of the country until mid December, the right time to start the draw up to the holiday. 2 weeks before the day. Gonna be a good Christmas this year.

These ones just walk along the side of the road.

I saw a guy who dressed up as Santa Claus for Halloween yesterday.

There was another fella beside him dressed like (I guess?) Jesus but I didn't see the connection. Jesus isn't really a Christmas event.

given boards.ie is a multicultural site, i dont think christmas should be discussed at all here in respect of other religons.

now, who's for mince pies? ;)

    Santa is Jesus's grandfather.

I absolutely love Christmas but when the festivities start now, the whole thing is dead by Christmas Day. Such a shame. It really takes the fun out of it.
