As I'd never heard of a chartplotter before I was going to suggest the GPSMAP76CSx as I know that is the marine version of the GPSMAP60CSx that I have, the main difference being that the 76 floats and the 60 is just "water resistant". But then I saw that there was actually a range of chartplotters on the Garmin site as well.

What is it that a 'chartplotter' does that a regular one would not, or is it just that they have a bigger screen or something?
