How long does it take?

How long does it take to get your provisional liscence after applying?(By handing it in to the tax office, not sending it)I just want to know because i am applying tomorrow and want to book my lessons-il need it for them!Also does anyone know is it possible to get a car for about E 2,500(including insurance) at 17?The car would only be a few hundred i spose but would there be any roadworthy ones outh there for this much?thanks!

Should take about a week to get the licence, but wait until you have it before booking lessons.

As for getting a car AND insurance for 2500 at the age of 17, assuming you're male you might have your work cut out for you unless you go for something with a 1.0 or 1.1l engine size.

Check out carzone.ie and see what you can find, look for something that's been recently NCT'ed.
