01 VW Polo Gearbox needed!!

    Does anyone have any idea where I can lay my hands on a Gearbox for a 01 Polo?? I'm 3 weeks waiting on a garage to get me one!! Are they pullin the mickey or are they that hard to come by???

    What's wrong with your current gearbox? Can it not be repaired/reconditioned? Or maybe the selector rods broke through the casing - I've seen a few VWs do that.

    the polo gearboxes tend to give quite a bit of bother, from my experience the easiest way of sorting it out is to bang a recon box in, the place you buy it from will give you some money off the one your buying depending what sort of condition the old one is in, like an exchange

    Naas gearboxes or western gearboxes are generally very good, find their number in 11811, they will more than likely have one in stock

    Cheers for that. Garage gave me a bell back today and said they go one. I thought they'd be handier than tah to get though???

    The one that was in mine, the casing was cracked. From what i gather, that means its basically fooked
