we are renovating a 3bed house in galway. we have removed all plasterboard and piping so access is direct. We are replastering after installation and insulation is done in house.

We require 7 rads, installation of oil condensing boiler outside, hot water cylinder, attached tank. 1 kitchen sink with Dishwasher feed and waster. 1 washing machine feed with waste. 1 bath with seperate pumped shower, 1 bathroom toilet and sink.

the access is very straightforward and easy to get to for all installations in the house, rads, hotpress etc.

would anyone have an idea of how much this might cost ?

have been quoted LABOUR only, ex vat, at 2500? would this be about right ?

Are the floors concrete or timber?

Also why boiler outside: if u are anywhere near the sea it wont last piddling time?

the ground floor is concrete, we can do all the chasing/cutting for the plmber.

    upstairs regular joists

we are putting the boiler outside as its a heatpac outside boiler from firebird and will save taking up space.very robust design

Given that u seem to be doing a lot of the work in the prepping, 2.5 seems a little high: I would have thought maybe 1900/2000 if he is using qualplex or similiar, if copper the 2500 prolly not a bad price.

however if u dont have any alternatives then...

Am in market for a non electric pumped shower: can u pm me with the spec u have selected pls

Re outside boiler: am not a fan of these at all: maybe old school:)

the outer casings dont seem to last, certainly in the west where exposed to sea air.
the other point is that if u need to change/ go renewable or what ever there is a lot of 'undoing' both internally and externally with buried pies etc.
As I said, perhaps old school:)
