Probably bit of a stupid question, but here goes...

When claiming on insurance, will the loading on the next premium come down to the financial cost of the claim, or the nature of the claim?

    i.e. would rear-ending a Merc cost you more than read-ending a Punto?

P.S. Wasn't me by the way - honest!!

The nature of those two claims is the same though?

Yeah, the nature of the claims is the same, but the costs are obviously going to be vastly different - my question is that given a claim of a similar nature, will the cost of settling the claim be the overriding factor in loading your next premium?

    Thanks
