Since OldYellar the patron saint of Waterford Division of boards beers has migrated to Dublin theres been a distinct lack of beer related activity, realising this I am taking matters into my own hands.

Is there any interest in a Waterford boards beers probably this side of xmas ?

I am taking a group of 20 there (laserblast) next week. they have to go in two different groups. Will be my third time there in a month so when it comes to Waterford beers count me in but only when ye get back to Waterford or the pub in tramore (enough of laserblast at the mo)

Ps A mate has two 8 seater taxis so I can get great deal on trip back to city. if needed.

Well timeframe wise does a saturday suit best ?

Next week is too short notice i'd say
The week after I wont be around

    Sat 24th November ?
    Sat 1st December ?
    Sat 8th December ?
    After Xmas ?
    Not a Saturday ?

After the 8th is probably a bit close to xmas ?

I'm up for suggestions here lads ?

After the 8th is probably a bit close to xmas ? imo yes

I would be flexible too and if we can avoid city centre Saturday night madness would be good but not essential

I'd be up for this anyway. Have no real preference about where, but would rather we organise some pre-drinking activity. Nothing like shooting each other with lasers to spark up some conversation later :).

1st December sounds ok to me, just have to check the fixture list and see who we're playing that day.

Im fairly flexable, but there will be a block in December / January ill be busy (no idea when yet) and every Wednesday I wont be about (take groups from the college to Laserblast).

Laserblast can cater for 20 if we give them enough notice. Normally €11 a head, but might be able to get ye in cheaper (€9 probably).

Taking the risk of sounding like a blonde, what is boards beers? Is it a putting a face to the username kind of thing.

Pretty much as you've said - A boards get together (in this case in a more local area, everyones welcome), just some drinks, chat and general antics (hopefully laserblast), put the face to the username etc.

There's often larger beers in Dublin and the powers that be have successfully organised other boards events such as paintballing etc.

Would I look out of place if I wondered in on my own

Nope, or drag along a non-boardsie if you want (thats what I did for my first beers)! Iv'e only been to 1/2 myself but everyone there was really nice like.

We'll all be wandering in on our own, once you get pissed enough it won't make a difference.

Right, we could do with a bit of festive cheer. Time to start getting things in motion. Can a poll be added for a decision on a date? Or is it too late/short notice?

I'm up for it as ever.
