I have seen folk ask advice on a car they want to buy

Is a Toyota Yaris a good car? What does the letters VTI or WTI mean on Yaris? What should I pay for 00 regd 4 door? Are they all 1L?

VVTI (not WTI) is Toyota's variable valve timing engine tech. Its a good thing.

Its a reliable car. But thats not the same as it being a good car. Try one for yourself. I don't really like it, but then again I could never quite understand why so many Irish people bought Toyotas(and my familty have had Toyotas for longer than I can possibly remember).

Yaris is either 3 or 5 doors. No 4 door(its not a saloon).

There are 1.3's available, but most if not all will be 1.0's.

VVT-i stands for Variable Valve Timing-Intelligent. Its found on loads of other cars. It gives an increase in power and at the same time reduces fuel consumption.

Avoid E spec(as rare as hens teeth thankfully), no central locking or power steering or electric windows.

Have a look at Carzone for more info about prices and specs.

Do all 99 and 00 Yaris' have power steering? I assume so since it's never specified.
I'm also looking into getting one at the mo. They seem to be nicer then most of the other stuff I can afford. I had been looking at Polos.

if reliability is your number 1 priority then id say go for it
toyotas reliability is only matched by its dullness
