Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Network Problem

I have a laptop and a pc and lately I've been having problems with file sharing and printer sharing. I use my network places and configured the network with the wizards in control panel as I'm not really good with network stuff. Well now I have a problem. When I try to access my laptop from my pc I get the an error message

\\Laptop is not accessible. You might not have permission..."
"The network path was not found"

This usually happens when the laptop is off but it isn't. I share over a wireless router and never had a problem before.

Could the laptop have got a new local IP or does anybody know what's wrong?

    Alan

If both pc's can get to the internet then it's a sharing / naming problem or to do with firewall

if either can't see the internet - fix that first

if using dhcp from a router the address will change d being dynamic
    at the command prompt
ipconfig will show you the ip address
ping 192.168.x.y so you can ping the laptop using the address above
ping laptop will show you what address the desktop thinks the laptop is at
