Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

think this is the season we say goodbye to UCD for a while, too many players left and even Mahon cant keep them up with the 3 down 1 up system.

UCD Bray and Cobh for the drop methinks

Was thinking of having a punt on them for the drop but it's only 1/2 for the students.

    ucd and cobh definitely down.

bray have a very good midfield/attack (kavanagh, cawley, whelan, mccabe, myler, rowe) but very dodgy defence. harps have a couple of good players but I don't think they have enough quality to stay up.

Harps are nothing special. Think Bray will stay up.

Looks like Joe Gamble to SPA is a lock on a reported €4k a week. It will be a body blow to City to lose him, as he is the best centre mid in the league, but who can match that kind of wages? Im sure if City did it for him, it would have to be done for a few others, and then we be screwed.

Hope this turns out to be nonsense.

Doubt they'lll be much movement at Shels. But Waterford on the other hand, will they have a team come July.

Galway to release a host of platers including Stephen O Flynn, Wes Charles and Derek O Brien. Apparently they are loosing money hand over fist and need to cut their cloth a little better.

    Greg O Halloran to Barnet?

    Apparently to Cobh.

    Mansaram and Myler to UCD.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 21,296 ✭✭✭✭gimmick

    Apparently to Cobh.

..for the rest of the season, then Barnet. At least that is the rumour anyway.

Stephen O Flynn to Cobh as well. Though, the talk is Cobh cannot pay the players they have at the moment, so hard to see how they could pay 2 full timers?

Also talk of Drogheda releasing a few players in July due to mounting debts. The stadium issue needs resolving for them or they will be screwed.

    O'Callaghan set to leave City
    Monday, 30 June 2008 22:12

Cork City have announced that midfielder George O'Callaghan has expressed a desire to leave the club.

Cork City manager Alan Matthews revealed that several clubs want the former Ipswich Town star, and that they are outside the eircom League

'We have been approached by a number of clubs enquiring about George's availability and the player has a number of options available to him.

'At this point in his career, George feels that it would be in his best interests, both personally and professionally, to pursue his career outside of the eircom League of Ireland, and we fully respect George's decision in this matter

    George back to England?

The man is deluded at this stage.

The City fans must be well impressed.

Bohbourne could be complete by the end of July, we've been linked with O'Neill, Ndo, Cahill and Stuart Byrne, wouldnt mind O'Neill but with Byrne, Crowe and Fenn all playing well I dont see what hed add to the team.

    Yiz might win the league.

    And it isn't Bohbourne.

    It's Shelhemians. Everyone knows that.

I know shelhemians is more commonly used but I think bohbourne has a bit of a better ring to it.

George O Callaghan back on the transfer list. Apparently he is off to either Oldham or Tranmere. He spoke with Mathews yesterday, and he would stand in his way.

This is the beginning of Mathews shipping out Cork players in favour of his Dub friends.

    Mathews OUT!

Stewie Byrne wouldn't be a bad replacement actually.

Stephen Rice has been the main rumour for Cork.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 21,296 ✭✭✭✭gimmick

.....And Derek O Brien of Galway.

Stuey Byrne? We have enough bitter Dubs in Cork thank you ;)

But the drink driver requested the transfer himself....

I assume this kills the Gamble to Pats move?
