Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

While I'm not exactly trilled at the prospect of another Dublin club(no need imo really) every club has to start somewhere and every fan has to start somewhere .

If they can draw in a genuine crowd without detracting from other clubs(it's not like anyone is going to stop supporting their current club anyway) then they may turn out to be a positive for the league .

Meh, with the kind of money they have behind them they'll be in there next season anyway.

    Hmm.

This looks like Franchise Football as we all feared it would turn out.

Makey-up teams in makey-up areas, with makey-up fans.

Ah once we give them a few hammerings they'll have no fans left. At least there'll be a Dublin rival in the division I guess.

    Yep.

    hey Ronan.

Any word on a squad for you lot? Or are yiz doing a Shels on it and not getting players until the end of Feb?

Training is starting next week, lot more emphasis on getting local players through the system. Good few should hopefully get in the squad, Aaron and Vinny have been in contact with a lot of players already (vinny, with half the country if one was to believe the stories :D ) and are confident of assembling a good squad. Also meant to be taking a few of Athlones players.

    .

the problem is basically they are the only club willing to step up.

force the junior clubs into the LoI when they win and relegate clubs like Kilkenny so they can find their level.

    its the only solution

Ger Rowe is on the transfer list at Shamrock Rvs. Heard yesterday he's signing for Bohs, only heard rumours about him going to Pats, doubt he'll leave Dublin so these two look likely.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 20,346 ✭✭✭✭KdjaCL

Bohs can have him tbh, Foran signed with darlington so we still looking for a striker, hope its not another fitz type desperaton signing.

Right, here are the current rumours swirling around

    George is coming back.
    Danny Murphy to follow.
City are to pay in excess of €50k for UCDs Quigley.
Pat Sullivan and Dave Mooney from Longford have agreed to join.
Ger Rowe is being spoken to!
Damian o Rourke who went on a 'soccer' scholarship to the states and played with us beforehand is on his way back as well.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,056 ✭✭✭applehunter

Looking good. All those singings are needed.

Ger Rowe is a hidden gem in this league.

Most importantly, The king is back!:)

As I said in an above post I doubt Rowe will leave Dublin if he gets offers from either Bohs or Pats.

    http://droghedaunited.ie/scripts/Article.asp?ArticleID=1309

Drogheda United are delighted to announce the signing of full-back Joe Kendrick on a 2-year deal. The Dubliner returns home to Ireland after a long spell away playing for, amongst others, Newcastle United in England and 1860 Munich in Germany.

Left-back Kendrick spent some time on trial with paul Doolin's men at the beginning of last season before signing for Workington in the English Conference and having impressed Doolin sufficiently, he arrives at Drogheda to fight it out for a place in one of the league's meanest defences.

Kendrick becomes the club's fourth signing of the close-season, joining Sean Prunty, Shaun Maher and Adam Hughes in the claret and blue.

    Player Profile
    Name Joe Kendrick
    Date of Birth 26/06/'83
    Place of Birth Dublin
    Nickname Kendo
    Position Left-back
    Foot Left
    Height 6 foot
    Weight 12.5 stone
Previous Clubs Newcastle United, 1860 Munich, Darlington, Tamworth, Workington

Hopefully this won't be the case or else I'll be the only one in the stands along with anyone i manage to drag along. It's hard to get anybody interested in the team. If they fail to get results then I fear the worst.

    A Sporting Fingal supporter

I didn't think you guys existed yet.

Fair play if you take an interest, but it's going to be exactly like Dublin City. One man and his dog.

At least someone does. When Harris was pushed up front with a few minutes to go you nearly always knew it was time to get the coat ready.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,881 ✭✭✭bohsman

He was a striker for us, he went to pats in part exchange for trevor molloy after pats turned down Crowe.

What about the time he came on in Junksville at 1-1, for the last ten minutes or so?

Scored one and made one, 1-3 Shels.

    Genius substitution by Fenlon.

Seems City have signed Dave Mooney on a 3 year deal. I'm strangely apathetic to this.

George news part 1000000000000568: An offer is on the table for him from City. Ball is in his area now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,056 ✭✭✭applehunter

Getting worried about George situation now.

Mooney is a good signing to get. When was the last time City got the previous year's top scorer?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,147 ✭✭✭Ronan|Raven

    Woohoo money for Mooney.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 20,346 ✭✭✭✭KdjaCL

Pats have signed former welsh international David Partridge.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Partridge

Been out of football since that mostly.

    Another centre back

    Bleedin loads now, striker now?

Aaron Callaghan's Red 'N Black Army.
L.T.F.C. If I had two lives I would give them both to you.

Neither would get their game ronan.

Mulcahy makes cork a decent side next season, cant see Farrelly or Healy getting a look in CMF with Mulcahy and Gamble. Heard we bidding for Gamble cant see it happening tbh.
