    Hi,

Does anyone know if Peugeot have resolved their problems with dual mass flywheels and turbo failure on their HDis? My wife is thinking of a 207 1.4 HDi for the new year. As far as I know, dual mass flywheel failure has been an issue with 1.4 HDis and turbo failure has been an issue with the 1.6 HDi. Given their new push to be regarded as a quality manufacturer I'd hope that these problems have been resolved but I'd be interested in any recent experiences....

I don't know about the 207, but the 407 is still a disaster area when it comes to the turbo and flywheel.

Is there any pattern to these issues? As in has the turbo blown on the HDi within a certain mileage or are they random incidents?

Sorry for hijacking the thread a little but I just bought a 05 Focus TDCi recently which also uses the PSA 1.6 HDi engine.

I'm not sure - Crosstownk has posted recently that a significant percentage of 407 HDis on his fleet have suffered turbo failure. The only thing that I can find on the Honest John website is that '"Pressure gateway failure" caused turbo failure on early 1.6 16v TDCIs'. Googling has highlighted issues on the flywheel problem. I've no idea what the implications are for yours but Ford in Ireland do tend to be honourable on known issues outside warranty (in my experience anyway). I'm hoping that these issues have been resolved. No hijack btw ;)
