Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Laptop Screen issue

The LCD on my laptop was recently broken by being dropped.
Its cracked like a spiders web.
The laptop boots up and loads correctly as I can hear the XP login music but I have no display.
There is a VGA out on the Laptop but when I connect it to an external screen its not giving a picture.
I'm pretty sure I had a dual view configuration setup but I'm not positive.
The laptop is just out of warranty (1 year) and I'm told that the repair costs for a new screen are expensive.
I'm toying with the idea of buying a replacement screen on eBAY and fitting it .
I want to make sure that there is no additional damage done but I cant get a picture .
Is there anyway to force a video signal on the vga port by any chance ?

Most laptops have a FN key that activates additional functions on your F buttons (F1,F2 etc) try these to activate the output.

    mine is F9.

    Thanks Wisesmurf for that info.
I found the manual and the F3 button controls the monitor options.
Was able to view the output on another monitor.
The laptop seems to be working fine bar the display which I will now have to replace.
    Thanks again.;)
