ive bought a car recently, and received the tax cerificate today. do i then get a follow on motor tax renewal form or do i have to go about this myself?

Bets is to drive to the motortax office then to wait for the form to arrive in the post. it could take months.

You need to go to your local motor tax office in person the first time you tax your car.

I recommend getting there as early as possible - otherwise the queues get unbearable.

great stuff, just rang them there, they are posting out form. you only get reminders to tax after you've taxed car once. so as you've said already, up to yourself to tax for the first time.
