Dixons are selling them. 7200 RPM and according to the marketing, they have an ultra-low-noise fan (though bear in mind the marketing team in DSG are mindless d1cks who can't spell. I worked in DSG so take my words as gospel haha:D)

Great deal though! USB connection and 16MB cache.

I bought a LaCie 500GB external for €120 in Max Burns a couple of months ago. It could be cheaper now.

EDIT: According to their website it's still €120 in store but it's only €99 on their website (link), delivery is €8 so that's €107 in total.

PC World in Sligo had a Maxtor 500GB External (Fanless - good/bad?) for 199.99 ... Might buy it for the oul man.

While we're on topic, does anyone know where i'll get the cheapest pocket USB hard drive? Anything around the 100GB would do. Not looking for 'cheap' ... but 'cheapest' would be nice

There's a few on Komplett, check it out.

The only thing that put's me off a network drive is the speed. 100Mbps aint good, and I doubt many of us are hooked into a Gigabit switch at home
