Spain - Prescription Medicines

    Last time I was in Spain you could buy medicines over the counter in a Pharmacy that you would need a prescription for back here, e.g. antibiotics.

    Does anyone know if this is still the case? I heard they might be tightening up on this.

    Yes, I think this is still the case. Pharmacists seem to be much more qualified in Spain than they would be in Ireland and regularily consult people for minor things that would require a visit to the GP in Ireland. Where did you hear that this was going to change?

    It was nothing concrete, just second-hand information from someone who was over there recently. I wasn't sure whether to give it much weight :)
