gears messed up

my bike says i'm on different gears than what i really am.

I cant use the high gears and when i fix the chain to what the controls say it should be on it makes a terrible clicking ticking noise.

What can i do to fix it up?

it sounds like you just need to get them adjusted. is it only the back gears that are the issue? the clicking is because the gears are set up and indexed incorrectly, usually it is just a matter of turning a few adjustment screws, but you would have to post the brand and name of your gears to say for sure..
