What you looking to use it for? I mean ADSL, broadband from a cable provider, fixed wireless connection?

It would be for a fixed wireless connection.

Had linksys as wireless but some models overheat and need to be restarted over and over again - sometimes 3 times per day.
Have 3com now and no problems - but it's only wireless router[using another one in bridging mode for dsl].

I find the Linksys WRT54G/WRT54GS/WRT54GL to be a solid device. There are three versions -- any will do the job. Go for the GL model if you're a bit of a tweaker.
