After a hectic few weeks – 52Funk @ Kennedy’s 2nd Birthday, supports to Aim and Amp Fiddler, and a disco detonation of the highest order with Lee Douglas last Friday as part of the 2007 DEAF festival, we’ve got just 4 parties left this year…. Oh but what parties they are going to be....

    Saturday 10th November - 52Funk @ Kennedy’s
Mano Le Tough (Live), Philth ( DJ Set) and Lil Dave ( DJ Set)

    Doors 11pm. €7 before midnight/€10 after
Mano Le Tough is the latest Irish producer causing ripples both in his home town and across Europe. His dancefloor friendly discoid productions have already led to a slot at Electric Picnic and supports to the likes of Dublin electronic wunderkid Jape. Having moved to Berlin to soak up the liberal licensing laws and the vibrant, hedonistic club scene there, he has already bagged high profile gigs with the likes of Justus Konchke of the legendary Kompakt stable. He'll be rocking the 52FUNK basement tonight with a little help from his old mate Lil Dave.

Finishing off the night will be Philth. One of Dublin's most established DJ's, this fella has been pricking up ears all over the place with his live shows as one half of filthy techno/electro duo Philth and Seki. A resident at Backlash and with a list of high profile support slots as long as his arm, he is sure to tear the place asunder….
He’s also not a bad DJ either, check out these mixes: The first is techno, the second is disco.

We’ve got some passes to give away for this Saturday’s 52FUNK. Simply email info@downtownsounds.org with the answer to the following question:
“Name an artist who records for Kompakt Records?”

    Saturday 8th December - 52Funk @ Kennedy’s
Lindstrom ( Live ) and Prins Thomas (DJ Set) + More TBA

Doors 9pm. Admission €15 tickets/18€ on the door
Hans Peter Lindstrom has helped to put Norway on the 21st Century disco map with a string of cosmic releases on his self-run Feedelity imprint, as well as floor-burning remixes for LCD Soundsystem and Franz Ferdinand. His 'I Feel Space' cut has become a huge underground anthem, making it's way into DJ boxes right across the spectrum thanks to huge remixes by luminaries like Mandy, Freeform Five and Tiefschwartz.
Together, Lindstrom and Prins Thomas have put together two LP's of collaborative material for The Glimmer Twins' Eskimo label, as well as collaborating on remixes for Thomas' Full Pupp label. Thomas has also found time to collaborate with the likes of MUDD ( Rong Music) and Justus Konchke ( Kompakt Records), and has seen his 'Major Swellings' project appear on The Idjut Boy's Noid imprint.
His distinctive brand of freaky-deaky funk, disco, cosmic boogie and otherworldly house and techno sounds has rocked clubs in the four corners of the globe, with his recent 'Cosmo Galactic Prism' mix for Eskimo displaying the mindmelting range and breadth of the man's music collection.
This is a unique opportunity to see two of contemporary dance music's leading lights together on one small stage. An unforgettable night is promised!!
