I'll kick it off with Dirk Kuyt* :o

But if I wasn't a Utd supporter I'd be saying Darren Fletcher, I mean WTF ! Hold on.....I should still be saying WTF :D

*Kuyt will probably go and get a hat trick this weekend.

Kuyt is a very good player. He is just playing awful at the moment.

I'd have to go for Ashley Cole.

Titus bramble or most of the Newcastle defenders of the last 5 or 6 years.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,207 ✭✭✭meditraitor

    Michael Carrick

Not because he is a bad player, but for €18.5m and his weekly wage you could get 2 equally good midfielders. I would hate to see money wasted like that.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,263 ✭✭✭yom 1

As a pool fan I was as happy as a pig in ****e the day Diouf walked away from our club - I'm only disgusted he was ever associated with us.

Other players worth a mention are

Gary Neville - no justification needed
Drogba - disgrace of a man
Jenas - Cant believe he still gets his game for spurs, just dont rate him at all
Titus Bramble - What an illusionist. To trick so many people into thinking he can play football is phenominal

Who do you support? To be fair every team wastes money at some point or other.

As for the opposition players, well can't look past James Collins of West Ham. He's sh1t and ginger.

    Robbie Savage
    Jamie Carrager
    Ashley Cole
    Lee Bowyer
    Lucas Neil
    Ben Thatcher
    Danny Mills
    Joey Barton

    C. Ronaldo - huge amount of talent, but his ego is bigger. Almost seems pissed off when the team do well without him being the centre of it.

Ah I wouldn't agree with that. Every team needs a knacker.

All of them on the one team would be interesting though! :D

Excuse me...Jamie Carragher is a fine upstanding citizen! ;)

for me it would have to be.......

Drogba - Excellent player, but the guy really is a disgrace-everything thats wrong with the modern game he epitomises (spelling?), greed-theatrics etc
Tim Cahill - As Noel Gallagher said, he just has the kind of face you'd love to box all day long.
Diouf - great shout by whoever made it above.
    Neville - For obvious reasons.

    Sissoko
    Diouf
    Savage
    Bellamy
    Bowyer
    Barton
    Ashley Cole
    Thatcher
    Bramble

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,508 ✭✭✭Green Giant

    El Hadji Diouf
    Salif Diao
    Bernard Diomede
    Djibril Cisse
    Abdoulaye Faye
    Benoit Assou-Ekotto
    Fabio Bilica
    Facundo Sava

That's all I can think of for now

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,890 ✭✭✭SectionF

Alan Reynolds, although I'm not sure he qualifies under the term 'player'.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,722 ✭✭✭ibh

Jens Lehmann - He's crap and he's also a tool.

Agree with Jenas, he is over rated.

Wes Brown - Just don't thinks he very good. I don't think he would have been capped by England if he played for a smaller club.

    Joey Barton
    Frank Lampard
    John Terry
    Carragher
    Pennant
    Trevor Sinclair

    Ashley Cole
    Gallas
    Michael Ball
    Ben Thatcher
    Lehmann

Diomansay Kamara would probably be one of my main ones. Oh, and Mido and Jermaine Pennant too.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,722 ✭✭✭ibh

Forgot about Pennant. He'd be on mine as well even though i'm a pool fan. Hate him..

    Paul Robinson
Almost every Newcastle defender since 1977 (approx)

    Mike.

Several of the best players in the world? You may not like them, but you wouldn't say no to having them in your side.

    I'd suggest (for varying reasons):

    Robbie Savage
    Hossam Ghaly
    Julio Baptista
    Paul Robinson
    Pascal Cygan
    El-Hadji Diouf
    Craig Bellamy
    Jermaine Pennant
    Emmanuel Eboue (ah crap...)

    Neville
    Scholes
    Lampard
    Bramble
    Saha
    Cahill
    Osman
    Weir
    Lehman
    Robinson
    A. Reid
    Flethcer
    Savage
    Dyer

This list could get very long very fast...

Typical bitter scouser, Drogba worth three times your entire team,
players I would not like to have, let's just start with the entire 'pool team, bar Riise

What?? Have you watched any games in the last two years?? Not sure how many would take Riise for theyre team......

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,203 ✭✭✭Attractive Nun

    Michael Brown. Hate the guy.

    In defense of this -

That's just for starters. I also remember, for some reason, him blatantly fouling Ronaldo in the box, somehow not giving away a penalty, and then goading Ronaldo for diving. That really annoyed me. I really really can't stand the guy.

Luckily he's **** too so I wouldn't want him in my team anyway.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,372 ✭✭✭✭Mr Alan

ha ha ha Riise is muck! :) clueless

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,617 ✭✭✭✭PHB

Bellamy and Barton would be top of my list.

Wait sorry, I just saw Scholes, how could anyone not like that guy?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,372 ✭✭✭✭Mr Alan

Pretty sure Alonso doesnt like him after the Anfield game last year when he threw a punch?

I don't understand that myself - he seems one of the more sound UTD players.

That Michael Brown is a nasty piece of work indeed (Not often I have sympathy for a ManYoo player, but ffs the malice in that tackle on Giggs).

Cashley Cole, Manny Eboue, Robbie Savage, Ade Akinbiyi, Titus Bramble etc etc

I have nothing against Scoles tbh, was an excellent player, seems like he has his head screwed on. But there is a bit of a nasty streak in him, Utd fans (incl PHB) like to put it down to to his inability to tackle, but the Alonso attempted punch last year was bang out of order and that excuse cant be used, so i could understand why some people could not like him.

He'd do a job for us, but, to be honest, he wouldn't make it into the first team

    who is "us"? Utd? Chelsea?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 88,972 ✭✭✭✭mike65

    I'm guessing Derby County.

    Mike.

Given my angry defence of Drogba, Port Vale :D
    Chelsea

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,372 ✭✭✭✭Mr Alan

Ok Derkeiser, well this is a veiled compliment to your team BUT Riise is not good enough for Chelsea, back up for back up maybe!

This is a tough question, there are plenty of players I dislike but would welcome them with open arms if they decided to move. So I'll mention the people I dislike and don't rate.

    Diouf
    Bellamy
    Bowyer
    Lehmann

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,193 ✭✭✭pd101

Off the top of my head,

    Savage
    Sissoko
    Kalou
    Lehmann
    Mills
    Ibrahimovich

Really, he's worth 3 times more than our entire team? Torres cost £25m, thats more than Drogba cost. And he's a far better player than that diving waste of oxygen.

As for who i wouldnt like to see in a liverpool shirt:

    Gary Neville
    John O'Shea
    Cristiano Ronaldo
    Ben Thatcher

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 501 ✭✭✭LOTTOWINNER

    Harry Kewell (big time Charlie)
    Phil Neville (brainless)
John O'Shea (can play many positions but no position very well)

Boumsong. How come nobody said Boumsong? Is it because he can't be taken seriously as a defender?

Kuyt is a very good player. He is just playing awful at the moment.

He got 14 goals last season ( I stand to be corrected on that one) And its now the 1st week in November and he has 2 penalties and a tap in to his name. He's player for a top side remember and look the rate of return, imagine how bad he would do in a struggling team

A few people have said Eboue...why

Really? I bet if he signed you'd be delighted with yourself. Not that you'll ever admit it but u and I both know that if he played for you's itd be nothing but a good thing from the football perspective since you'd have a player who can score goals and beat a man (but not hit a free kick). Who cares what hes like as a person. i dotn care that Gary Neville is a grumpy git, he's as solid a right back as u will get. Thats all that should matter.

Id rather have a player who doesnt think he is bigger than the team(and dont try to be smart and mention Gerrard), one who keeps his private life out of the rags. He's a great player(not as good as people make out, not top 10 in the world) but i just cant stand him.
And id rather Finnan and Arbeloa to Neville

Nonsense, Torres a long way to go to prove he's half the player Drogba is, objectively speaking you have some good, proven players, Torres is not one of them, when Torres scores over 30 goals in the prem for yous', come back to me
