Hi all, I understand that the Euro is stronger now against the US Dollar than it ever has been, so I've decided to stock up on a good few DVDs for Christmas presents. Just wondering though, what sites have you used recently that you've been happy with? I know about www.playusa.com - which I've used in the past, along with Amazon.com (but their shipping is extortionate). So thought I'd ask the boardsies for a few good tips on other websites selling DVD's.

Mainly TV Box set's that I'd be interested in buying, if that makes a difference? Desperate Housewives, Lost... oh, and "Scrooged" with Bill Murray - an underated Christmas classic! :D

    Cheers

Thanks for the reply! Unfortunately I had a bad experience with that site in the past - was charged upon order but the item didn't ship for weeks. I've found the deep discount thread and I'm happy to order from them. Cheers!

They also ship from a warehouse in the UK i believe..think its free shipping. Tis probably the best place for HD DVDs and BluRay

If I buy a dvd box set from the US for say €100, how much tax am I likely to have to pay?

Once your above €22 and below €350, you should be charged Customs Duty at 3.5% on the total amount (this is the total amount you paid - including the shipping costs, by the way), so you're now at €103.50. Then VAT is applied (if necessary) at the appropriate rate - DVDs are luxuary items and hence VAT is applied at the top rate, 21% on top of the previously increased value. So now your at €103.50 + 21% = €125.24
