I know there has been plenty of threads recently requesting advice on selling regular cars but I have been asked by a friend of the family to help sell a wheelchair converted Fiat Doblo. It is very difficult to know whether it would be better to leave the vehicle as is or have it converted back to its original spec. The add has only being put in today but would anyone have any suggestions of how to sell this vehicle so as it is not sitting around unsold for months?

Why is your friend selling so soon? I thought vehicles for the disabled had to be kept for two years for the VRT exemption.

The person for whom the vehicle was purchased has since died. It was purchased under the heading disabled passenger. There is no longer a requirement for the driver to own and use such a vehicle. I cannot say if there is a clawback on any VRT or VAT but that is none of my business I guess. The owners just want to know how to get rid of it, any ideas?

Thanks for that suggestion, I have sent out emails to them with no response as yet and their website does not seem to have any place for ads like that....

The suggestion about the Irish Wheelchair organization is a great one.
Maybe they have a monthly magazine for subscribers and your ad would be in that.

    Give them a call tomorrow.
