Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Do I need this partition?

Ok, basically in July, I bought a Dell Inspiron 1721 with Vista Home Premium. Everything's fine, but it came with a "RECOVERY" D: partition. The partition only seems to contain stuff for reinstallin Windows and the Dell utilities. But the thing is, I seem to have them all on disc.

I have discs marked as being for:
    Works 8.5
    Roxio Creator
    Dell MediaDirect
    Dell Drivers and Utilities
Reinstallation DVD Windows Vista Home Premium 32 BIT.

So basically does anyone know if I need to keep this partition, or can I erase it with Computer Management. There's also 2 hidden ones which I don't know what's on so if anyone knows about them either, that would help. Thanks

I would hold on to the hidden partitions as they come in very handy for rebuilding the PC. The files may be more up to date than the CD versions.

I was thinking probably best not to get rid of the hidden ones, but the other one is visible. And like I said, doesn't seem to contain anything I don't have on disc.

It's just between the C:, D: and two hidden ones, the drive has the max of 4 primary partitions. I don't really like having all my stuff on the C: drive, since if something major goes wrong with Windows and I have to format it, everything is lost (whereas on a seperate partition its usually safe)
