How does one search for a specific phrase on Boards? Using quotes doesn't seem to have any bearing on the results. X.

I don't think you can. If you want to search for a phrase, you may be better off using google. You can search boards specifically by including the "site:" directive, e.g.

"My search phrase" site:boards.ie
