Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I wonder if that lad from Andorra that scored against Ireland is still playing? Lima i think his name was. He could score with 10 men on him, surely they have a chance:)

What was Gerrard doing last man back, clearly should of been up there with the way he can score

Mark Lawerence comments about David beckham being similar to a American Footballer . I wont miss BBC next summer spending at half hour talking about england winning the euros

I think i'll puting BIG bucks on Croatia E/W. A shocking performance, Fergie will be delighted as all the england players in Manu squad will get a nice break next summer.

terrible performance by England. In fairness Croatia look a good side, they might go all the way in the finals.

They're out.. Mclaren will be out of a job. Jose Morhino to take over as England Boss and John Barnes to win strictly come dancing:D

Never looked like they were going to win.

Oh and will John Motson ever retire? Some of his comments tonight were unbelievable. He was basically stating that some of the players on the Croatia team who play in the Premiership owe it to England to basically let them win...

Only seen the 2nd half "stupid soaps" but Croatia were the better team by far and the attacking even at 2:2 when they didn't need to do anything seeing as they qualified already was a joy to watch.

They were simply not good enough.

May sound familiar coming from me but like us, just not good enough.

no team from Uk or ireland were good enough...........

There will only be 1 irishman who is crying(with sadness) at that result.

Michael O Leary --- No English flying Ryanair to Austria in Summer '08

Whats the bets that the PL will have a limit on foreign players in very soon to try and get more English players playing at the top level.

it's a good job we weren't playing one of Europe's big hitters, like Cyprus, they would have hammered us

Indeed, thats gonna make headlines soon enough, wont bother the big clubs they feed the lower leagues with players as it is.

no question about that, obviously at youth level they need to! countries the size of England, with their resources and rich domestic leagues simply should not be failing to qualify for major tournaments under any circumstances. i have no doubt the vast influx of foreign players is finally catching up with them now

The PL would do well to have a ban on English players judging by the rubbish out there tonight.

Ziggy I think you'll find there is ways around that law i.e. you can "employ" as many Foreign players as you want the limit will be on "Playing" them I don't think there is any European law stating what soccer teams selections have to be!

At a guess PHB will correct me but Man Utds youth system creates more professional footballers than any other in the world.

fact they dont play for man utd is irrelevant really they all english and go pro.

Ha the reporter on bbc news just after saying

"You can take it from me Steve McLaren is no longer the England manager"

See the media runs the english team!!!

BTW I'm not saying I support a ban just saying I think it is more likely to happen now imo

I dont understand that point. England have a fantastic squad. All of them are playing at a high level.

I don't think it'll ever happen. Ya can't have an English lad on a Arsenal, United team just cos he is English and a better European footballer on the bench not playing because of his nationality.

UEFA/FIFA/FA could use a law that says you must have X amount of english players in your squad, you can still hire as man players as you want but on matchday you have to have X players in your 16/18 man squad.

This doesnt affect working rights as players still being paid, EU cares not for players who are being paid but not played, Winston Bogarde is proof of that.
