Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

read the linked one without realising how old it is, anyway this is what i said to that so may as well post it somewhere!

as much as i hate united i would say there isn't another winger in the world I would put ahead of him at the moment and surely that makes him world class. While he is not in the category of Maradona, Pele or Zidane he is only young and i would be surprised if by the time he retires his name isn't with them.

I've no problem with Dunphy giving constructive criticism towards him but he seems to go personal at times. He called him a puffball once before, in England that would get you sacked and rightly so.

I also can't forget Dunphys wonderful Premiership team of the season last year where he had Rosicky instead of Ronaldo

I'm not Ronaldo bashing here but..... The first goal I think against Blackburn, where they won it in defence, Tevez ran half the pitch and played an exquisite outside of the foot pass to lay it on a plate for Ronaldo, Ronaldo just ran off and afaik didn't acknowledge Tevez part in the goal. I could be wrong but from what I remember of his celebration it was all about himself.

That sort of ****e annoys me. Even playing 5 a side with my mates, if someone plays a pass thats a tap in for me first thing I do is applaud the pass.

He's an unbelieveably talented player (He ran some distance and has some pace to get onto the end of Tevez pass) and I don't think anyone can genuinely deny that, not even Dunphy.

are u serious? didnt know that.

our licence money pays his fee's lads and ladies and thats what he comes up with. i wouldnt mind if he was on TV3 or ITV, but this is our national broadcaster. think i might write a big ol' letter and pop it into Bill O Herlihys letter box. (i think i actually will do that as he lives down the road from me. Ill post up here what I write and if anyone has any suggestions do tell :) )

i saw on MOTD that he started the move and ran 75 metres or so to keep up with Tevez and their point was that he is determined and hard working and doing that sort of thing is proof of his desire.

a goal celebration shouldnt be analysed, pro players have it bred into them that its all about the team and a goal is a goal. i reckon the whole team was as happy as ronaldo was and he would be the equally happy if tevez scored from his assist and tevez was the focal point of the celebration. thats why they are pro's

dunphy makes rte soccer...ya he doesnt have a clue and talks utter rubbish... but hes more entertaining than any other pundit.
i know loads of lads who watch rte instead of utv/bbc just to see who or what hes giving out about.

    I love that clip! :D

Ronaldo does seem a bit selfish and sometimes acts like a bit of a spoilt brat on the pitch. By all accounts he's the complete opposite when he's off the pitch. I still wouldn't swap him for any other player in the world! :)

He's still very immature TBH, but he's just so damn talented. Just needs to hone his skills really. Not the finished article by any means, but potentially one of the best players in decades.

I skipped the goals, we wont be watching that again :D Great comments though.

Poor Eamo was a bit drunk and confused that week, he meant to give that same word for word premonition before the disastrous match against Milan :) (I cant recall what was said then, it was a gorgeous sunny day and I was getting atrociously drunk in the garden from midday. I went a bit overboard in your face to the Man U lads in the pub later on, though tbh a part of me was wishing for a Man U Lpool final.

I said it in another thread.
I like Dunphy but feel he's unfair in relation to C. Ronaldo who's obviously a massive talent!

In fairness though when he was writing keanes book he wouldn't hear anything bad said about Roy. Not really impartial is he!

I dont like Dunphy, he's trying to be as nasty as possible to get the viewers - he's noting but a wanna-be Simon Cowell.

Well I think he's been around alot longer than Simon Cowell.

Simon Cowells whole x-factor persona is actually based on Eamon Dunphy.

the rte punditry is the best around. if you compare it to the bbc all they do is talk about the england team and never slag off any player.

Rte is amusing, can be a bit mad with some of their views but its still bloody entertaining. I know alot of people anymore who just watch rte for the punditry...

I'd rather listen to somebody with boring opinions who are saying what they think than listen to somebody with crazy opinions who are just saying them to stay on the air.

Have to agree. I believe those girls he entertained in his house some time ago spoke very highly of him :-)
