We've got two super-fresh new artists playing the club this week, both heavily attached to local on-the-rise label FVF Records. FVF is an emerging techno/minimal/electronica collective based in Dublin, Ireland. FVF was set up in 2005 by Matt Farrell & Nick Flanagan with it's roots in techno and a firm resolve to help further the Irish music scene, FVF is comprised of both record label and event management / promotions. The record label is dedicated to releasing quality electronic music produced by solid young international producers. The promotions/event management side has a string of underground parties and club nights under its belt. FVF currently release on digital only but will release on vinyl when the time is right. FVF's second release, the 'Fiends & Family' EP, is due out this month and features Siphon (IE), Sjaakflut (NL), Metrotek (IE) and Mangelt & Eriella (ES). FVF are the ones to watch..

First up we've got Dublin and Berlin-based electronic music duo Metrotek performing their live set in the cosy confines of Wax with analog and digital hardware fusing for a unique style of minimal with elements of funk and kinetic techno rhythms. They recently signed 'Craichouse' with FVF and you can check out tasters of their tracks at:

Following on from Metrotek will be Dubliner, Siphon (aka Nick Flanagan) - one of the founding members of FVF Records. Siphon spent his formative music making years under learning to produce after being taken under the wing of F-Com & Intec producer 'Kobbe'. Siphon appeared on FVF's first release with a remix of Sjaakflut's track 'Stomper', also has contributed the A-side to FVF's second release 'Various Artists - Fiends & Family EP' due for release in the coming weeks. Expect a tough minimal techno set around 132bpm.

Opening up the lengthy first hour we welcome back EC 'Resident' Giles Armstrong for his first appearance at the club in over 19 weeks. Although, the rest of us here at EC HQ will be amazed if he manages to fit 10 tracks into his opening hour.
