my husband has been trying to sell his nissan skyline for about 4 months now. the price is right not over priced maybe a little unpriced ( but thought that was a good thing) have advertised it in autotrader , cbg, and car zone ,
only had one guy look and it and he turned out to be just a time waster.

car is sitting in the drive , its never driven as my husband now has a company car, any suggestions of what to do to sell it ,

    thanks

looks like a mint example, the only thing that would put me off is the RN Reg :p

...that, and the fact that insurance and tax are crippling for a Skyline GTT!

Has he tried bringing to garages? He will not get as much as a private sale but since its sitting in the driveway losing value every month he might as well get shot.
There are performance car forums here, maybe he should check those out and advertise there.
Southside auto i think its called, they are off the walkinstown roundabout in towards Ballymount. They mainly deal in performance and modified cars.

They would never pay irish prices as they buy cheap in japan.

Might be worth bringing it to Sligo/ Donegal this weekend. Wouldn't be that far and you'll get lots of petrolheads and boyracers around....

Your into a limited buyer's market with a car like that. It is generally a bad time for selling a car at the moment, it is going to be harder trying to shift a 2.5 litre performance car.

I doubt the audience you need to reach are looking in carzone, cbg or autotrader for these kind of motors. Magazines like Max Power, etc are your best bet.

sorry to ask but what is coolnights.

both cbg and autotrader now have modified car sections.

as for the insurance it is not as expensive as u wold think, my husbands is only €1100.

It's a modified car show, sure to be a lot of people interested in it at that.

What a stupid thing to say !

How about you'll get lots of motoring enthusiasts there.

Not like the tools who come on boards.ie and talk out their arse on the motoring forum because they bought a new Almera

That skyline is a bargain! Would love only for the insurance/taxed/petrol - would need to rob a bank to run it.

Maybe try got to one of the jap import specialist - It would end up on there forcourt a 20 grand or more. Haggle a swop for a smaller easier to sell car even. But this is the worst time of the year to sell any car - money is tight with most people.

But in saying that It is well worth the money!

thanks for all th suggestions, hoping that with the rally this weekend and its in autotrader for another week , and thinking of going to the cool nights that we will sell it . if not it is off to merlin motors where it will be sold for the bargain price of €10k

i wouldnt give 13,5 for a skyline. IBC have a grade 4 goin e2500, i think it a GT-R too, drop to ten and youll sell it, nobody will spend that on a car when, better, faster can be gotten cheper. tbh

I hate to sell it, but you're trying to sell it so i'm going to say it...

Drop it to €9,995 and you'll sell it :o

€13,500 is a bargain so ignore the nay-sayers and stick to your guns- as my Dad would say in this situation- the man who'll buy it isn't dead yet. You'll find a very happy buyer but it's not a car for everyone so just hold tough. You won't be the first or last to have trouble selling a specialist car. It's not a Corolla afterall.

You could put it up on http://www.racershaven.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=20
