    Hello,

I'm writing a server-client architecture type program and I'm trying to implement some automated authentication using a mac address and license key. However, I'm wondering is there any industry standard ways in doing this? I'm not sure how I can go about generating a license key to begin with. I've written a small test to obtain the mac address for each interface on a system be it windows, mac os x or linux. Is there any recommendations or suggestions from those that have implemented something like this before?

    Many Thanks,

    A
