    Thanks a lot Kelso!
Since after confirming my presence at the assessment centre (next Wed in London), I didn't receive yet any indication about the personal presentation: is it 100% sure that it's about your suitability at BoI (same for everyone)? Any info you received for preparing it (points to stress)?

Hey Pier, What position are you going for? Is it a position in the UK? The presentation that all the irish grads seem to have got was

''Prepare a presentation demonstrating your suitability for a place on one of the Bank of Ireland Group Graduate Development Programmes. Your presentation should reflect your understanding of the Banks Strategy"

Its a bit weird that they havent told you what the presentation was on yet!!

What Kelso said is bang on, I was asked a small bit about the credit crunch and the wealth management oppertunities in Ireland in my interview but that was only because I incorporated some points on them and BIAM in my presentation.

Well they seem quite badly organised Pier-nobody had told me what was the presentation was on until I read this thread and rang them. I only got the email with the title 2 weeks AFTER my interview so you may want to call them to check.
The presentation is pretty straightforward and I think is just to test you ability to give a presentation really. It's at the start of your interview and you can even sit down if you want as you give it (as I did).
Don't think it really matters what you have in it really-Farva seems to have put in things relating to the business but I just had a v.short presentation on myself, basically ran through the CV

I've applied for the CM grad programme, so I guess it would be mainly in Dublin. I'm interested in IBI: I know they are a small player, but since I'm trying to move from Strategy Consulting to I.Banking (M&A), hope it could be a beginning.

Thanks for the hints Farva! Do you recommend any other sources where to find info on BoI Strategy?

Where do you work in strat consulting? My understanding is that those skills are highly valued in IBDs, maybe you could go in as an experienced hire?

    Hey Mikmo,

I'm doing Strat at one of the Big4, but I'm not sure if 1,5y would be considered as a relevant asset. My first choice at BoI was IBI Corp.Finance, but since it looks mainly focused on Irish mkt, I think I will go for the Corporate Banking - Acquisition Finance team, more international.

    Hello

After the assessment centre did you get the offer straight away for the capital markets programme or did you have to go for a final interview after?

Do you know what comes up in the final interview?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Kind Regards

    INTERCREATE

For me, at least, everything happened on the one day: group exercise, presentation and interview. The CM offer followed about a week later.

hey all i know this thread has been down for a while but i'm just wondering is it worth my while applying this year with a non business related degree. I don't know what area i'd be in and would feel the competition would be too much.

    Any ideas please

Always worth your while applying Jaffa but I imagine given the current economic situation they will be cutting back on recruitment. They offered this years intake €5k each to postpone their start date a year so they will have already filled some jobs for next year.
I wouldn't let the fact that you don't have a business degree put you off too much though. As long as you can demonstrate an interest and knowledge in business you should be OK, they like to have some variety anyway.
